Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would put her on the American child prodigy list. It was no surprise given that she was a woman who was of Irish heritage, raised up in a gifted family. Maureen entered this loving refuge in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th, 1920. Marguerita Lu. FitzSimons made a name for herself with her contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland and ran a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons placed 2nd in the family of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this gorgeous group. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as a kid and was very good in them. Her passion was coupled with a natural talent for performance. It was evident by her getting almost every Feis award for drama and the stage that her country had to offer. At the age of 14, the Abbey Theater accepted her and allowed her to live out the dream of her in operatic music and classical theater.
