Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in performing arts, which we now know as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier as a child prodigy. However, for an Irish girl who was surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family, this was naturally occurring trait. Maureen was born in this cosy sanctuary on August 17th, 1920. She was raised by her parents and family members. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen was an athlete at heart and was a fan of tough sports. Her natural interest and her talent in performing was astonishing. This was apparent when she won every Feis for drama and theater which Ireland could offer. At the age of 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and permitted her to pursue her dreams of operatic music and classical theater.
